Multiple Teams · Girls Volleyball is Back on Track

The girls volleyball team experienced some growing pains during the first half of the season as the team struggled to get their first taste of victory. The team dropped their first 5 preseason matches before getting their first victory against Palm Desert in the Whittier Tournament. The team finished the tournament 4-2 and seems to have righted the ship just in time for league.

Under the leadership of veterans Stephanie Ramos & Bailey Chavez, the girls have continued to work hard and persevere through the rocky start and have won their last four matches. The team is talented but young as far as varsity on-court experience. Many girls have been learning new positions and needed some games under their belts so could they develop the chemistry which they seem to have found of late. Last week the Lady Conquerors opened Hacienda League play with a 3-2 victory over Walnut and defeated Charter Oak last night 3-0. They travel to Chino on Thursday before finishing up the first round of league next week against West Covina and Diamond Ranch. The team will then compete in the Gabrielino Tournament before beginning the second round of league.
