The Girls Soccer team is off to a hot start this season as they currently sit at 6-1 and have a championship under their belt. The Lady Conquerors have rattled off 6 straight victories and won the Don Lugo Tournament this past weekend. The team gave up zero goals in the four games of the tournament and outscored their opponents 12-0.
The Conqueror defense has stepped up and been a major reason for the teams success. After the loss of freshmen Keeper Monica Ochoa to a broken finger, sophomore Kaitlyn Bolanos has filled the void and played well. Offensively, the team has been sparked by Vanessa Johnson and Madison Hagerty. Hagerty leads the team with 4 goals and Johnson is the team leader in assists with 6. Both are tied for the team lead with 10 points a piece.
The squad will take part in the Mater Dei Tournament this week where they will be tested against quality competition. The tournament begins on Wednesday against Mater Dei and will continue through the weekend as they take on Villa Park and Long Beach Poly.
