Many schools around the valley have found it difficult to field a competitive Boys Volleyball team. That has not been the case at Los Altos where the Boys Volleyball program has been thriving of late. Last season the boys went 18-11, won a league title and made it to CIF Quarterfinals.
The club expects more of the same this season with the return of Tribune Player of the Year and Hacienda League MVP James Valeanu. Valeanu’s powerful serve and presence at the net spearheaded the Conquerors to many victories and the team hopes to see a repeat performance in 2018. Damien Soriano has been the surprise of the offseason and the team will be counting on him and setter Eduardo Villanueva to be the steadying force for the team after losing six seniors to graduation.
The boys will start the season in Tustin Tournament, taking on teams from Orange County and the Inland Empire. The team will also play in the Valley Christian Tournament in addition to non-league matches against Bishop Amat, Ganesha, Salesian, Mark Keppel, Montebello, Temple City and La Serna. Then comes the ultra competitive Hacienda League schedule where the Conquerors will battle it out against Damien, Claremont and Diamond Ranch for league supremacy.
