Multiple Teams · Los Altos Comes From Behind to Beat Whittier and Advance to Semi’s

The Hacienda Heights and Whittier water polo communities came out in full force to cheer on their teams on Saturday afternoon as Los Altos hosted the Whittier Cardinals in Quarterfinal action of the Division 6 Playoffs. In front of a packed house of cheering fans, the boys put on a great show in which the Cardinals took the early lead but the Conquerors rallied late to earn the 12-10 victory.

The Cardinals were the aggressors early scoring fast and putting the pressure on the Conquerors. The Los Altos defense was able to adjust and gave the offense opportunities to get back into the game. After 2 quarters, Whittier had the lead 8-6.  The second half was a momentum shift as Los Altos scored 3 goals in the 3rd to tie the game at 9 heading into the final quarter of play. Whittier scored the first goal of the 4th but Los Altos came roaring back to take their first lead of the game, 11-10, with 1:40 left in the contest. The Conquerors added another goal with 55 seconds left which sealed the victory.

Los Altos will play against top seed Crepi in the Division 6 Semifinals on Wednesday November 13th.  The game will be played at Harvard Westlake School in Los Angeles at 3:15pm. Harvard-Westlake is located at 700 N. Faring Rd, Los Angeles, CA 90077.
